SSL Encryption
To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption technologies such as SSL via HTTPS.

Collection of General Information
Like every connection to a web server, the server of our hosting provider, Strato AG (Pascalstraße 10, 10587 Berlin, Germany), automatically logs and stores certain technical data. This includes your device’s IP address, operating system, browser type, browser request including the origin of the request, and time of access. This data is necessary for technical reasons to provide you with our website. Strato protects this data through technical and organizational measures and does not disclose it to third parties. If any personal data is processed in this context, it is based on our legitimate interest in offering a stable and secure user experience.

Cookies
Like many other websites, we also use so-called „cookies.“ Cookies are small text files transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This automatically provides us with data such as your IP address, browser used, operating system, and internet connection.

Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

You can, of course, view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are generally set to accept cookies. You can disable the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use your browser’s help functions to learn how to change these settings. Note that some features of our website may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

Contact Form
Personal data you provide to us via the contact form will only be used to respond to your inquiry or to contact you and for the associated technical administration. Your data will not be evaluated or used for any other purpose, nor will it be shared with third parties.

Comment Function
When users leave comments on our blog, the time of their creation and the username chosen by the website visitor are stored in addition to the comments themselves. This is for our security, as we may be held liable for illegal content on our website, even if it was created by users.

Newsletter
When you sign up for our newsletter, the data you provide is used exclusively for this purpose. Subscribers may also be informed by email about circumstances relevant to the service or registration (such as changes to the newsletter offer or technical issues).

To verify that a registration was made by the actual owner of the email address, we use the „double opt-in“ process. This involves logging the request for the newsletter, sending a confirmation email, and receiving the confirmation reply. These data are used solely for sending the newsletter and will not be shared with third parties.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of your personal data and its use for the newsletter at any time. Each newsletter contains a corresponding unsubscribe link. Alternatively, you can notify us using the contact details provided at the end of this privacy policy.

Newsletter Delivery via Mailchimp
Our newsletters are delivered using „Mailchimp,“ a newsletter delivery platform operated by The Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. Mailchimp’s privacy policy can be found here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/.
Mailchimp is certified under the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield and thus guarantees compliance with EU data protection standards.
We use Mailchimp based on our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28(3) sentence 1 GDPR. Mailchimp may use the data in pseudonymized form to optimize or improve their own services, such as for technical optimization or statistical purposes. Mailchimp will not use the data of our newsletter recipients to contact them directly or share it with third parties.

Newsletter Performance Tracking
Our newsletters include a so-called „web beacon“—a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from our server or, if we use a mailing service provider, from their server when the newsletter is opened. Technical data (e.g., browser, system, IP address, time of access) is collected during this process. This information is used to improve the technical performance of the service and to better understand the reading habits of our users (e.g., based on their location or time of access). The evaluations help us adapt our content to our users’ interests.
Although this data can technically be assigned to individual recipients, it is neither our goal nor, if applicable, that of the mailing service provider to monitor individual users.

Google Analytics
This website uses „Google Analytics,“ a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). The service uses cookies, which are stored on your device. Information collected through cookies is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
This website uses IP anonymization. Within the member states of the EU and the European Economic Area, users’ IP addresses are shortened, making personal identification impossible. Google Analytics is used based on a data processing agreement between the website operator and Google Inc.

You can prevent cookie storage by adjusting your browser settings. Note that doing so may limit the functionality of our website.
You can also prevent the data collected by cookies (including your IP address) from being sent to Google by installing the following browser plugin: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en
More information about Google’s data use can be found here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en

Instagram
Our website may integrate content and features from the Instagram platform, provided by Instagram Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA. This may include images, videos, texts, and interactive elements such as “like” buttons or subscription features. If you are a member of Instagram, the platform may associate your interaction with your Instagram profile.

Use of Script Libraries (Google Web Fonts)
To ensure that our content is displayed correctly and attractively across all browsers, we use script and font libraries such as Google Web Fonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). These are transferred to your browser’s cache to prevent repeated loading. If your browser does not support Google Web Fonts or prevents access, a default font will be used instead.

When accessing script or font libraries, it is possible that the library provider collects data.

Use of Google Maps
This website uses Google Maps API to visually display geographic information. When using Google Maps, Google collects, processes, and uses data about your use of the map features. More information about data processing by Google can be found in Google’s privacy policy. You can also change your personal privacy settings in the Google Privacy Center.

Comprehensive instructions on how to manage your data in connection with Google products can be found here.
